Cisco Unified Presence is a standards-based enterprise platform that brings people together in and across organizations in the most effective way. This open and extensible platform facilitates the highly secure exchange of presence and instant messaging (IM) information between Cisco Unified Communications and other applications.

 

Cluster Deployment:

 

  • Involves the installation of same version of two Presence servers (CUPS) in an active-active or high availability mode.
  • The installation involves the Publisher, Subscribers and the Presence Server.

All the features and capabilities of Cisco Unified Presence 8.6 are now part of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager. System Capacity:

 

Cisco Unified Prtesence Server (CUPS) runs as a virtual machine on Cisco UCS or other specification-based hardware.
